The Wedding of Jyoti & Prinellen-11 December 2010

Last year Jean Paul Photography had an opportunity to photograph a traditional Indian wedding.

The wedding was held at the ICC Convention Centre and both the reception and ceremony were absolutely beautiful. The colours and detail stood out and the couple, Jyoti and Prinellen were adorned  in the most elegant and beautiful garments .

However words cannot describe how exquisite this event was ; have a look below at some of the beautiful memories captured at this traditional wedding.

True Love Magazine Shoot- 3 March 2011

Recently, we here at Jean Paul Photography were given an opportunity to photograph a shoot for True Love Magazine. The spread which appears in the May 2011 No387 issue, is an article which has been run in several previous magazines, on couples who have “made it”. Mxolisi and Nonyameko are a couple from the Eastern Cape, they are high school sweet hearts who met at a beauty pageant and 17 years later are still together. It sounds like a setting for a romantic comedy, yet this couple are all that and more.

Throughout the shoot you could not doubt their love for each other, with their loving gazes and playfulness, Nonyameko and Mxolisi  were a lot of fun to work with. Eager to strike poses and willing to have fun, this was definitely one of those shoots where you feel you’ve captured great photos because the “models” were eager and enthusiastic.

Have a look through our gallery at the special memories caught on camera of this special couple and  take a glimpse at their article published in the True Love Magazine.

Carryn-Anne Trollope and Neal Conlon.Wedding-15 January 2011- Haga Haga

On Saturday I travelled out to Haga Haga, for the wedding of Carryn-Anne Trollope to Neal Conlon. The Ceremony was to take place on the deck overlooking the main beach, followed by the reception at the Haga Haga Country Club, inside the Marquee tent.

Upon arrival in Haga Haga,  I meet the bride Carryn, her three bridesmaids and two flower girls as they beautified themselves for this special occasion. Whilst taking photos of the Bride and Bridesmaids, I took a few shots of the flower girl who was sharing in this big event, she must have been about 2 or 3, unfazed by  what was going on around her, I managed to capture some stunning shots of this gorgeous little girl.

As can be seen throughout many of the photographs,  I decided to take  a different approach, focusing not only on the bride and groom, but also on their surroundings. The Haga Haga beach is  incredibly  beautiful and proved to be a spectacular backdrop for Carryn and Neal’s wedding photographs.

Photographing the ceremony turned out to be quite a challenge, as gale force winds proved a problem. Nevertheless this did not ruin the beautiful photographs that were taken of the couples  special ceremony . These images can be viewed below

Wetherd Moto Cross Photo Shoot

Wethered-Motocross Track, Sunday 9th January 2011.

One incredibly HOT and Scorching Sunday , the boys (and girls) got together and headed to the Wethered-MX Track (between Christmas Rock and Kidds beach).  The owner Shane Rutherford invited me to come and check out what the track was all about and of course  I was stoked to be given and chance to  capture some great shots.

During the course of the day,  Shane,  his girlfriend (Shannon King) and the rest of the guys warmed up  on the track and practiced some of their outrageous and  extreme jumps. Due to the previous rains the week before the +- 2,5 KM  track was altered and the jumps were heightened, therefore creating some spectacular shots, which can be viewed in the gallery below.

The warming-up  continued into the late afternoon and I waited for the early evening to set in so that the lighting would be greatly improved, before I started photographing the action. Thus enabling me to capture some incredible shots.

It was a great experience and something that is an awesome alternative for East London adrenalin junkies to enjoy, whether they too are riding  the track or as an unusual and entertaining way for a family to spend  a weekend .

Big thanks goes out to Rockstar Energy Drink, for energising us all at the track!

And of course a thank you to Blake Walker and Janine Mitchell for assisting me with the shoot.
